Let’s Hike and Write Together!

Wednesday, June 25 | 6:30-8 p.m. MST
This is a 1.5 hour-long online gathering that combines music, poetry, writing, and friends. This is similar to a book club, but rather than assigning a book, a musical album is the focus.
Participants are encouraged to listen to the album ahead of the gathering, review the lyrics, and come prepared to free write for about 30 minutes based on writing prompts associated with the album. There is time at the end of the gathering for volunteers to share their work.

Las Palomas Heart Hike
Sunday, June 29 | 7-11 a.m. MST
This is an in-person event. We will hike, look for hearts, and make new friends.
Distance: About 3.5 miles of hiking and time to stop and take pictures / eat snacks.
Where: We will meet at the Albuquerque Smith's on Tramway and Central to carpool. It will take about 35 minutes to drive to the trailhead.
Hike Description: The first mile is pretty gentle with one short up. Then we'll take a side trip to some cliffs. There is about 1/3 of a mile of short switchbacks. We can walk along the base of the cliffs as far as we want. It's about 1/4 of a mile total. Then we'll go back down, turn, and continue around to the north to where heart rocks have been collected on the N. Faulty Trail. There's a little bit of up and down, but for the most part, the trail follows the terrain and has really nice views.
